The races

Sprint race

Circuit of approx. 3'/3'30" duration involving ascent with sealskins, walking section with skis in the rucksack, section with skis and sealskins, descent with directional gates; max. height difference 70 m. The race takes place in qualifying phases (individual), quarter-final batteries, semi-finals and the final. All batteries consist of 6 athletes from the quarter-finals to the final.



Mixed Relay Race

Circuit of approx. 8/10' duration with two ascents (the second with a walking section with skis in the rucksack) and two descents; max. altitude difference of 150 m; the team consists of a man and a woman who alternately run the track twice (the woman starts in the first section).
The race takes place with a qualification phase (individual; the times achieved by the 2 team members are added up) followed by a final A and a final B (optional, decided by the ISMF Race Jury); 12 teams are lined up in the final.
